This is the quilt I am presently working on. There is a lot of hand quilting on this one as I am quilting a star in the little squares, quilting in the ditches for the outlines and doing different designs on the borders. It is going to take a long time as this is the queen size quilt. I am enjoying doing the hand quilting as I don't feel rush on this one. I had started to piece it together before we went to Florida in January and finished to top last month. I guess between camping, having visitors and working outdoors with DH, it took me a long time to finally put it on the quilt frame.
We have started getting tropical storm watch here in New Brunswick. We had planned on going to the Moncton area on the weekend but because of the Tropical Storm Earl, we feel we should stay home to make sure everything fares well. It has been a long time since we got a storm of that magnitude. Hopefully, we won't get too much damage.
DH has added a little railing on our back deck and it has really made it look nice. I am so happy with all the work he has done around our place this summer. We have had a very dry summer this year and our lake is very low. However, because of the very high humidity this past week. there has been several boats on the lake all week. It has been nice to see so many people using the lake this summer. We have had record breaking temperatures this week. The forecasters are telling us that by Sunday, the temperatures will come down to 19C whereas we have been having mid 30's Celsius and very humid.
Everyone have a great weekend. For those in the storm area, keep safe and dry.

Nice quilt, love the colors. It's starting to cool down here.
Your quilt looks wonderful. Great colors. I really admire you for doing all that hand quilting. I'm not much into quilting, but would never try it by hand. I have cut out squares for a simple lap quilt, using some lovely Japanese fabric. My daughter, Kate, was walking me through the process, but she went home last weekend. Goodness knows when I'll get it done without her prodding and assistance.
Love the colors Mom :o) I guess you had to make your own since I won't give mine up. LOL!
We've got a lot of wind here today but no rain since this morning. Looks like Halifax/Dartmouth got hit with really high winds and rain. I'm glad it didn't turn out as bad as they thought it would.
I just found your blog today and was skimming through your posts. I really love your quilts! It's nice to find bloggers from the East Coast. :) Glad to hear you managed to avoid Earl! We did too. :)
Mumzy...this is going to look stunning!!! Is this for you or someone special??? Hint Hint...can I be adopted? :)
I'm so glad Earl passed your area without too much damage.
