Happy St. Patrick's Day

Just a note to wish everyone Happy St. Patrick's Day. For a change this year, we did not have a storm on March 17th. In the past years, we have had really bad weather on this date.

Today, I housecleaned my stairway and downstairs hallway. I was not looking forward to it as the ceiling in the stairway is really high and I needed DH's help to hold the ladder so I could reach it. Yahoo, it is finally done!

I have decided that when I am finished my housecleaning, I am going to put my sampler quilt on the frames to do the quilting on it. I never did finish that particular quilt top. I seem to remember that I do have the backing for this one, so I will have to go looking and find it. Once on the frames, I will be able to quilt on it when I have a minute to spare.

I finally got my countertop on and I am really, really pleased with the look it creates. Yes, when it is totally finished in the kitchen, I will post a picture of it. Hopefully, it won't be long now.

As most of you know, DD has moved to Nova Scotia. Well, she has purchased unlimited calling in the Maritimes and DH and I have unlimited Skype calling so it has been really quite nice to be able to talk with her anytime it strikes us. I don't feel that she is so far away now.

Must get going, and do a couple of things before I sit down to watch TV.

Take care everyone!

As usual, you are working too hard! Looking forward to seeing the results this weekend though :o)

Yes, it doesn't feel that we are all that far away now because it's like calling local! LOL!

I know you must be missing your daughter, now that she is not close at hand. It's hard - I know. I've had years of having my daughter far away - Kate has lived in England 16 years now. Inexpensive international calling has been what saved my sanity. I call her nearly every Sunday evening, mostly just to touch base and hear that everything is ok. We often talk about politics or favorite books, just as we would if we were sitting together having a cup of tea. It's not as good as being together in person, but it is enough to keep me happy between visits. I hope you find that it works for you as well.
